[FamilyLiteracy 802] Managed EnrollmentGail Price gprice at famlit.orgThu Oct 11 13:16:09 EDT 2007
I recently read an article by Kate Hyzer and Heidi Haupt in Fieldnotes for ABLE staff. The article was titled "Getting the most out of a managed enrollment classroom." It spoke of the value of managed enrollment for both students and teachers. You can read the article at http://www.pde.state.pa.us/able/lib/able/fieldnotes07/fn07managedenrollm ent.pdf So, I would like to pose the following questions to you: Does your program use managed enrollment? Does it use open enrollment? Or perhaps, it uses some combination of the two? What do you see as the advantages of managed enrollment? Open enrollment? What do you see as disadvantages of each system? For those who have worked in both enrollment systems, which do you think was the most effective? Why do you say so? I would like to hear from you on this topic. Please share your thoughts, ideas and experiences with the List. Thanks. Gail J. Price Multimedia Specialist National Center for Family Literacy 325 W.
