During December we recall numerous world events: Napoleon's 1804
coronation; the Wright Brothers' first powered flight; the first
performance of "Peter Pan" (in 1904) and the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Learn the details of those, and other events, in this summary of
December Highlights.

Also in this month's issue is a story about the real St Nicholas, born
in Patara (today's Turkey) in the third century. And ... take a virtual
trip to the national archives to see President Roosevelt's
declaration-of-war manuscript. ("Infamy" was not included in the first
draft of his famous speech.)
