I just finished a biography of Cora Wilson Stewart. It was a really insightful read into the beginnings of a national literacy movement. She is a native Kentuckian and began the Moonlight Schools movement with a philosophy that is very similar to Family Literacy. The book, if anyone is interested, is titled Cora Wilson Stewart and Kentucky's Moonlight Schools :Fighting for Literacy in America by Yvonne Baldwin. I would also add Malcolm Knowles to the list.
