Good afternoon List Subscribers,

I just want to remind you that our discussion about Comprehension
Monitoring Strategies for Adult Readers with Susan McShane and Donna
Elder will begin Monday. I hope you have taken an opportunity and
reviewed pages 80 - 82 from Susan's book, Applying Research in Reading
Instruction for Adults: First Steps for Teachers.

Think about your own experiences with adult readers. I know most of you
have heard a student say, "I read it, but I don't remember it." or "I
can read it, but I don't understand what I read." What have you done in
these situations? What kinds of strategies have you used with your
students?

Please join in the discussion, ask questions, share your experiences and
help us all learn.

For more information on the discussion and suggested resources to
review, please go to
