Hello FOB discussion list members!

My name is Julie McKinney, and I am the new moderator of this now fully
moderated list. (But don't worry--Barb will still be a big presence
here!)  I am so pleased to  be part of this community, and look forward
to future FOB discussions. 

A little about who I am... I have been involved with the National
Institute for Literacy's LINCS program for the past several years as
Coordinator of the Health & Literacy Special Collection website, so I am
familiar with many of the discussion lists. I have also taught ESOL, and
coordinated  workplace education and health programs. 

I have been working at World Education for 9 years on a variety of
other projects that support adult literacy education, and I am now
excited to be working with NCSALL and the FOB community.

As for the switch to fully moderated lists, I hope the transition is
smooth, and that the new format does not interfere too much with the
flow of discussion. I will check for and pass on postings at least twice
a day, and usually more often. 

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or
concerns about the list. And of course  pass on any ideas or questions
for discussion. 

The new FOB will be out any day now!
