Most GED prep programs are warm fuzzies. Learners get a lot of
emotional support and are not sanctioned if they come late or are
absent. Rarely is there mandatory homework. No one "fails." Post
secondary is a hard contrast. In many NJ community colleges, if you
have three un excused classes, you fail, and if you don't turn in
your homework, it's a zero. Thus post secondary is often a total
discontinuity for GED prep graduates and that is a huge part of the problem.
