Hi Everyone,

Thanks for participating in this discussion, and thanks, Robin, for sharing your experience with us. I hope that this was helpful to teachers and program administrators. It seems that we learned some things that teachers and tutors need to address with students to help uncover issues that affect their learning, and also some things that programs should address in their intake process.

Robin, if you would like to summarize these recommendations, it would be great. The ideas that stuck me most were the high incidence of visual stress, the pre-literacy skills to address with those who are non-literate in their own language, and the teaching style of a learner's home country (and its possible mis-match with ours). All of these can be uncovered with some simple questions.

If anyone has other comments or questions, please ask now. (We do not have the luxury this time of extending the discussion informally beyond Friday.)

Again, thank you, Robin!

All the best,
Julie
