A Happy Thanksgiving to you and you family, Julie! And thank you for re-issuing that wonderful article earlier from FOB on race, class and gender, on the other lists. The best Thanksgiving blessing ever! I've been sharing it with many others, and it's very timely. I really loved it, not having read it before. Every Wednesday, I will put out a question on the list that might be interesting to share thoughts and information about. Please e-mail me if you have suggestions. Today I hope most of you are winding down for a long weekend, but in honor of Thanksgiving, I will put out this informal first Wednesday Question: What are you thankful for in terms of our field moving forward? I am thankful that there is such growth lately of forums for discussion and action in supporting healthliteracy in this country. I see people from many different disciplines talking about it. I see conferences, books, government publications, teachers addressing the issue, and the addition of health literacy questions on the latest National Assessment of Adult Literacy. I think we have taken many steps forward and am thankful for that. What about you all? Have a warm and healthy Thanksgiving!
