Howard, This sounds exciting! Please write in and share with the list the results of your January meeting with the collaborative! Julie Julie McKinney Discussion List Moderator World Education/NCSALL jmckinney at worlded.org >>> "Zeitz, Howard" <hzeitz at uic.edu> 12/20/06 4:55 PM >>> Here in Rockford IL we have excellent collaboration between the regional Literacy Council and the Rockford Regional Partnership for Health Literacy (RRPHL). Although in past years we have not had the opportunity to work together with the area hospitals, things are about to change. In our community, the area hospitals have established a collaborative focused on patient safety. The first joint conversation focused on health literacy is scheduled to take place at the January 2007 meeting of the collaborative. Some of the members of the collaborative have expressed an interest in learning about specific interventions that can enhance the care of patients with limited literacy and/or health literacy. We intend to share the ideas and the resources discussed recently on the listserv with the attendees at the January meeting.
