Verizon Foundation -- Education, Literacy and Health Grants

The Verizon Foundation aims to help people increase their literacy and
educational achievement; avoid being an abuser or a victim of domestic
violence; and achieve and sustain their health and safety. To achieve
this goal, the Foundation funds programs in the following areas of
interest: education, literacy, domestic violence prevention, healthcare
and accessibility and Internet safety.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status.
Proposals will also be considered from elementary and secondary schools
that are registered with the National Center for Education Statistics.

Deadline: November 1, 2008

Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS)
does not administer this funding opportunity.
