[HealthLiteracy 3668] Working preference: 'Vaccinated for' or 'vaccinated against'

My colleagues and I have been struggling with how to phrase questions about receiving vaccinations for a survey currently under development. There has been some debate over whether the questions should be framed in terms of being vaccinated 'against' the flu, for example, or in terms of receiving a vaccination 'for' the flu. Does anyone have thoughts or experiences related to which is more easily understood by individuals? The distinction is quite minor and may not even matter if the questions are framed correctly, but we obviously want to avoid confusion if at all possible.

Thanks for your insight,
Laurie
