Missouri has its State IEP on it's web site. It is also looking at a
universal electronic IEP form. Most school district's already use a web
based IEP form. I don't know what the lobbyists for the Automated IEP
software companies will say. Also information contained in the students
IEP file must be destroyed three years after the student stops receiving
special education and related services.

This is an interesting passage... How is the disclosure of disabilities
and medical conditions sent electronically being handled? I would
assume with the new HIPAA there will need to be a whole new set of
signatures acknowledging the privacy of information and the electronic
process. Nancie Payne

Hello all,

Here is an interesting tidbit from the TRN Disability News, an
electronic publication.

Florida Passes a Universal Electronic IEP Form

Legislation creating a universal IEP form has been passed by the Florida
legislature. A universal electronic IEP form will mean that a student
moves through the school system using the same form with the same
questions. This new form enables comparison of one school to another,
one year to another, one district to another and helps facilitate the
management of the expectations of parents and teachers.

Do any of you know of other states that already have Universal
Electronic IEP Forms? and if so.... How well have they been received
by educators, parents and students?

Have Universal Electronic IEPs followed students into adult education
programs?

If you have experience in this area, please share with us.

Thanks,

Rochelle
