I would suggest that Maureen read her procedural safeguards
carefully-paying particular attention to due process. Without knowing
the whole story it is perfectly within an IEP teams purview to work on
only one goal if the team has determined that the one goal is the most
immediate need. Missouri has an not for profit advocacy agency called
MPACT they might be able to suggest similar organizations within your
own state. ptimpact.com The most recent procedural safeguard are
written in parent friendly language and can be accessed at

Nonverbal Learning Disability? Has she searched the web data base using
that term yet? She might find info from a search using that term.

Hi Maureen and welcome,

This Discussion List focuses on Adult Literacy and Learning
Disabilities. Although we focus on adults, many of our subscribers may
have experience working with adolescents who have a profile similar to
what you have described. I invite our members to offer suggestions that
might be of help to Maureen.

Thanks very much,

Rochelle

Hi,
This is my first time posting a message here. I'm not sure I'm in the
right place. I have a 13 yo boy who has executive dysfunction and a
reading comprehension/processing problem. He also has a visual spatial
learning disability. Expressive language is way above average both
speaking and writing. His school IEP is not addressing his reading
difficulties. Please if anyone knows how to access help for him, leave
me a message. I'm also looking into getting an advocate.
ttttttttthanks,
Maureen
