Also, in the Army after you complete Basci Training you start what is called AIT (Advanced Individual Training-I think that's what the letters stand for). During AIT you attend classes pretaining to your MOS (job). I remember when I was in, there were no accomodations for that either. You attended classes and you were expected to study and pass the test just like every other soldier. I assume the reason the military do not provide accomodations is it's a uniform institution. Everyone is expected to perform on the same or higher levels. The drill sergeants will tell you during training (BT & AIT) that they do not have time for "slackers". So again, I caution anyone assisting a LD individual into the military. They're a lot of factors to consider in doing so.

I did not ask about specific jobs. However, since I was asking about
accommodations for the ASVAB and the requirements for joining the military, I would
assume that this response would only apply to military positions. I do not
know if the exclusion also applies to civilian personnel working at a military
establishment.
