If a student has documentation for a learning disability in reading, the GED Testing Center may approve the GED tests be administered on audio tape. I have had many students obtain a GED with this accommodation. The GED looks the same as others. Also, you can obtain the GED study book on audio (CD) from the Library for the Blind. Great resource for those who are auditory learners even if the student will not be using the accommodation on the GED test.Carol Allen

Subject: [LearningDisabilities 1807] Re: Controversial againVery interesting, Glenn!!!. Can we change our paradigms to meet the
students goals ? I don't know. Maybe one way would be to have oral
GED test, figuring that many people can learn the knowledge without
necessarily having the reading skills. (And I am the one who said to not
set unrealistic goals!) I have to think about this one!
