I would recommend a video titled How Difficult Can This Be? The F.A.T. City Workshop by Rick Lavoie. It is excellent in sensitizing and creating awareness of how students (people) with LD experience challenges in their daily lives, as well as, strategies for working with these students.  It also comes with a practical discussion guide. You can find more information and resources at Ricklavoie.com. This would be an outstanding tool to start the year with.
