Have the tutor tape the day's tutoring session. I have found this to be extremely helpful....often better than the packaged deal because it is familiar to student and student is not getting material that has not been presented.Carol Allen

I had a volunteer tutor ask me this morning if we had any phonics tapes that her student could take home and listen to. The student is an older lady with a hearing loss and the tutor is very soft-spoken. The tutor feels that the student could benefit from hearing the sounds letters and keywords over and over again in a setting that she can control the volume. I don’t have anything on my shelves and a quick look at several publishers yielded zip! I could make a tape of course, but right now I just don’t have time. Any suggestions for a tape or an audio cassette that I could get for my student? Thanks in advance,Cindi RileyAssistant Executive DirectorLiteracy Volunteers of the Lowcountry1403 Prince St.Beaufort, SC29902Phone 843-525-6658Fax 843-521-1945criley at lowcountryliteracy.orgwww.lowcountryliteracy.org ----------------------------------------------------
