Hello to the Women and Literacy list - now combined with the poverty  list!
 
Judy Ward, ANN President-elect and a recent discussion leader on the  Women 
and Literacy list, has asked me to post this announcement about a COABE  
pre-session on effective math instruction.
 
 
ANN Teaching and Learning Principles: A Map for  Implementing Effective Math 
Instruction for Adult  Learners 
The Adult Numeracy Network (ANN) will hold a full day Math Institute as  part 
of the COABE Pre Conference Session on Sunday, March 25 in Philadelphia.  The 
Institute will address four strands (Number, Geometry, Data, and Algebra)  
for all adult learner levels. Attendees will participate in group learning  
activities which will increase understanding of concepts and emphasize the  
importance of an activity based curriculum. Individuals can register through the  
COABE07 website for the one-day Pre-Conference Session.
