Hello! The upcoming issue of The Change Agent (www.nelrc/changeagent) is
focused on learner persistence. We are approaching our deadline, but it
has come to my attention that there is some marvelous collaboration and
mutual aid going on in New Orleans to keep adult ed. functioning in the
wake of Katrina. I would love to include something -- a learner's story,
a teacher's or program's story of "persisting" despite the obstacles.
This piece would be included in our section on "Encouragement and
Motivation," and I only have one page available.

This is very last minute, and I apologize about that, but...if anyone
knows of testimonies or accounts that have been posted here or anywhere
else that would help tell a little tiny piece of the adult ed. story as
it has been unfolding after Katrina, I would LOVE to hear about it.
Please email me at cpeters at worlded.org. I am especially interested in
photos, drawings and/or writings that show how people have encouraged
each other in recent times. Please send contact names and numbers.
Anything at all that you think would be interesting to readers. Whatever
you send, I must receive it by Sept. 4th and it should come with clear
permission to use it in our publication. I may need to edit for length.
We pay $50 to students when their pieces are published in The Change
Agent.

Thanks very much.
