I think anyone who works in literacy, needs to go the
We LEARN conferences. I've not seen such a great
representation of learners in any of the other
conferences, and as part of NCSALL and as an
independent consultant I have attended many. Also, the
diversity of the presentations, speakers and the
opportunities to learn about various programmes,
issues, is priceless. I feel a deep regret every time
I miss one.

Sadly, what you say is true. Perhaps we can have more
people attend such conferences and make serious
changes in how learners are really perceived, their
needs and in policy and advocacy.
