I checked with Nancy Fowler who heads our Office of Family Violence. Her
response follows:

The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance developed a
four day basic advocacy training series last year. I'm sure they would
be willing to share some ideas with a sister coalition. Helen Butler is
the Training Coordinator. 1-804-377-0335.

Subject: [PovertyRaceWomen 2023] DV Training Materials?

Hi, everyone,

As part of my job, I coordinate a week-long training for new advocates
in the domestic violence training, and I'm wondering if any of you have
suggestions for exciting, interactive training/education materials. We
already use a terrific program called, "In Her Shoes," but we are
looking to add to our toolbox. I know this is a little outside the
typical adult education field, but I thought I'd give it a shot. We also
do trainings for other professionals who may come into contact with DV
victim-survivors, so there may be things you've come across in your
professional development experiences?

Thanks,

Karen
