[ProfessionalDevelopment] Discussion of State PD Systemsjataylor jataylor at utk.eduMon Dec 19 11:02:41 EST 2005
PD Colleagues: Earlier this fall, we discussed what would interest you for a list discussion. The number one suggested topic is learning what various states are doing in professional development, and several of you suggested questions that might be explored in some depth. Additionally, this fall's most visited Wiki page in the PD Area of the ALE Wiki has been "State PD": http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/StatePD I propose that we have a discussion of state PD, featuring 5 state professional development systems on this list. The discussion would be open to anyone who would like to share their work in state PD. Featured states would have colleagues subscribed to the list who would be available to address specific questions regarding their work in state PD. If you and others from your state would be interested in participating as guests in such a discussion, or -- if you have recommendations as to which state PD systems you would like to learn more about (so I know who to invite as guests), please email me off-list. Guest participants in such a discussion would also have the opportunity to collaborate in framing the discussion activity. Sound interesting? If so, email me at <jataylor at utk.edu> by Friday, January 6th. Thanks! Jackie Jackie Taylor Professional Development List Moderator jataylor at utk.edu
