David asked for ideas on nourishing creativity and innovation in ABE.
Creativity would rank next to the highest on Bloom's taxonomy,
suggesting that there is a process leading to it. Yet, so many people
with very limited Bloom skills are highly creative and very efficient
survivalists. Hmmm...
I would suggest that failure is a great lead into creativity, but one
we wouldn't want to promote.
Incentives can be great motivators for creativity and innovation
among teachers and students, and one I would love to see promoted
more. I also believe that creativity burns more in some than in
others, so building teams with diverse strengths which include
creative people by nature would produce great results.
