1. Did you benefit from this discussion? If so, then in what ways? Absolutely! I learned so much about the variety of ways online materials can be presented (podcasting, more about Moodle, more about list serves) and how these have been integrated into PD. 2. What did you learn from the discussion, or what is at least one thing that you took away from the discussion? (It could be a recommendation, an idea or aspect of online/blended PD you hope to pursue, a resource you will explore, etc.) In looking at Jackie's facilitation, I would like to emulate her a bit more in leading my students through online discussions. I really appreciated her method for brining out the quieter participants (a.k.a. "lurkers" and "perchers") by intertwining the idea with self assessment. 3. What did you find valuable about either what was discussed, or the design/process by which it took place? The email digests worked for me. I found them easy to follow and to access. 4. What did you like about the discussion (organization, process, format, etc) and what would you _change_ for next time? (consider aspects like (but not limited to) the week 1 discussion primer, the availability of synchronous chat office hours, Pod cast/online video archive, use of the wiki, facilitation, etc.) I like the idea of synchronous chat office hours. The interface would be simple and effective. I am not a big fan of online video or voice archives as a replacement for textual information, but I can see how it might be a useful augmentation. 5. If you attended the AALPD PreConference at COABE, was this a useful follow up to the PreConference? If so, then in what ways? If not, what suggestions do you have to improve the follow up for future PreConferences? N/A Thank you so much for facilitating this, Jackie, and thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge and experience! -----Original Message----- From: Bonnita Solberg [mailto:bdsunmt at sbcglobal.net] Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2007 11:53 AM To: The Adult Literacy Professional Development Discussion List Subject: [ProfessionalDevelopment 1242] Re: 5-minute Feedback "Taylor, Jackie" <jataylor at utk.edu> wrote: PD List Colleagues: I would be _thrilled_ if each person who followed at least part of the discussion would answer one or more of the questions below.
