My name is Melanie and I recently took a position with the Louisiana Department of Education in the Adult & Family Literacy Section after being involved in Adult ed. in Texas for almost 10 years.  I am here to coordinate the start-up of several new TANF literacy programs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.  Like many Adult Educators, my experience is varied.  I have served as an ABE/GED instructor, an administrator, and was a member of the team that wrote the Texas Content Standards.  I have extensive experience in and a deep love for professional development.  I have already gained valuable information from this list serve and am sure there is much more to come.
