Technology Colleagues,

I am archiving the discussion we have been having about Distance
Learning (under dire circumstances where face-to-face is not
possible). you will find it on the ALE Wiki at:

http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/AleTechnologyPureDL

So, if you would like to catch up -- and add your thoughts -- it's
now all in one easy-to-find place.

Now it's time to get to some of the hard parts of this scenario --
beginning literacy and English language learning levels. Assuming no
face-to-face contact is possible. how in the world can beginning
level ESOL/ESL students learn English this way? And how can
beginning level literacy students learn to read and write? Is it
impossible, or just very difficult? If you think it's possible, tell
us how. We need a lot of hard thinking and creativity for this part.
Give it a shot.
