Hello NIFL Technology colleagues,

Audio and video resources have been used in adult education instruction for
many years, but the introduction of CDs, DVDs, the Internet, and other
electronic technologies has greatly expanded their availability.

I'm pleased to announce that David Collings, Technology Coordinator for the
Adult and Community Education Network in Delaware, and Alex Quinn,
Executive Director of the Adult Literacy Media Alliance (ALMA), will join
the NIFL Technology list as guests to lead a discussion on
current and emerging uses of media in adult ed. instruction in the
classroom and at a distance. Their discussion will take place from Tuesday,
February 28th through Friday March 3rd. Some of the areas they will cover
on this topic include: teacher training, technical support for teachers and
learners, the challenges of their use, media distribution, and emerging
uses and tools foor delivery of media.

This topic emerged in response to your requests and responses to surveys.
So if you are interested in media literacy, muti-media products, cutting
edge technology and distance learning this will be of interest to you. As
with past discussions your questions, contributions and professional wisdom
will make this a great learning experience for everyone on the list.

What questions do you have that you would specifically like to see
addressed? What general questions do you have about this topic that can
help inform what David and Alex present? Send any questions that will help
shape the discussion to the Tech list as a whole or to me off list and I
will forward them to Alex and David.

Regards,
Mariann
