[Technology] Discussion Guests: Save the DateJennifer Rafferty Jennifer.Rafferty at umb.eduThu Feb 2 16:27:26 EST 2006
Hello Helene, Those are big questions! I suggest you take a look at the ALE (Adult Literacy Education) wiki. There are sections that deal with Technology and Distance and Persistence. There is a lot of useful information there including discussion postings from states that implement distance learning. http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/Technology http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php/Distance_and_Persistence In addition, you can visit the Project IDEAL website where you will find research papers and publications about adults engaging in distance learning delivery. www.projectideal.org In our state, we use GEDC-GED Connection, WES-Workplace Essential Skills www.literacylink.org, and MHC-GED for distance curricula. Of course, these curricula need to be supplemented with other resources at times, but they are the core curricula that our teachers use. Who are the best students to use them? What kind of instruction is needed with these programs? Thanks. Helene H.
