Hi Alex & David (and list serv particpants),
I am wondering if you have any working knowledge of the Kurzweil System? And, if so, would you recommend it? Literacy Volunteers of Cattaraugus County (NY) is working on a grant with a few partners. A major component of the grant is purchasing and utilizing the Kurzwiel system with those adults who are tested within the Adult Basic Education level.
We plan on integrating the use of the Kurzweil system into one on one tutoring and small groups to assist adults in increasing their reading abilities. For ESOL students the Kurzweil system will provide a tools for translating information from their native language into English and visa versa to promote a better understanding of the English language in comparison to their native language specifically for those native to Spanish speaking countries.
Would love to hear from you or anyone on listserv who have used this program and what their experiences were.
Thanks
Joann McAndrew
