I have heard of a company called Voxtech that makes a portable translator
with speech recognition. I think they do a lot of work for the department of
defense.

Dear all, 
 
I'm trying to find out if there's any software/hardware that can take oral
input in one language and then produce that text either in  oral or written
form in another language. Basically, it would have to be an electronic
translator with speech recognition capabilities. 
 
Has anybody heard of such an invention?
