had eliminated books with adults  (especially older adults).  How did they  
respond?  Before I left the corporate world, I had  eliminated lots of 
documentation (especially in new hire orientation) because  of the environmental 
waste.  Some people liked it, others  did not…  Any suggestions on how to overcome  
resistance?  Parents seem a little alarmed that I would do  such a thing…but 
the kids love it. 



This isn't exactly eliminating textbooks, but here's something I did  
sometimes as a student.
 
I hated spending sooooooo much money on college textbooks. I used the book  
for a few weeks, and then the instructor chose another textbook when that same  
class was offered again, and I couldn't even sell the book!
 
So, I ordered the book on inter-library loan. I often pain an overdue fine,  
which was much less than the cost of the textbook.  I also took the class  
bibliography, and ordered every reference on it through inter-library  loan..
