Nell,

I am in Arkansas and am an instructor for a program called Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (W.A.G.E.). We are administered through the Arkansas Dept. of Workforce Education which includes Adult Education. There are WAGE programs through out the state of Arkansas. Our mission is to work with business and adults seeking to upgrade their skills; whether it is academic (GED, College Prep, pre-employment testing) or computer literacy.
We have State Certificates that can be earned and we work with community business partners to recognize applicants who hold our certificates. Check out our website for the AR Dept of Education at http://dwe.arkansas.gov/ as well as the W.A.G.E. program link at http://dwe.arkansas.gov/AdultEd/WAGE.html. Arkansas has been providing Workforce development since the early 1990's and there are many programs in place.
