<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>The group of literacy-related
respondents were involved in adult literacy programs in Canada. Although we
asked about online professional development opportunities, some respondents
spoke about their experiences as online learners, others reflected on their
experience delivering online learning in a P.D. situation and others spoke
about delivering to adult literacy students. The other group of people who
responded to our survey request came from a mix of universities, colleges,
not-for-profit groups and government agencies (all but a few Canadian). This
group responded mainly from the point of view of providing P.D. opportunities.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>In terms of populations served, we
did collect information where possible on the number of people who had accessed
the online training and who their target audience was.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:black'>It wasn’t always possible to
compare their f2f experiences with online experiences because while some had
offered both types of training, some had not. Some had adapted existing
training for online, some created new content and approaches. It really was a
mixed group of respondents as shown in the demographic data in the report.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

provide a few more details regarding your respondents? In particular, what
types of instruction are these organizations involved in? Work related staff
development; adult literacy; etc.? Was any information collected regarding the
populations they serve? I am currently planning my doctoral research and am
thinking about comparing the face-to-face instruction and on-line learning in
preparation programs (Masters level) of Library Media Specialists. My search is
on for other research that has measured differences in outcomes. Thank you for
