Well, Daphne, you really are splendid to take this all on.

I have been beating my brains out on other issues--it really is the
"oppressed and literacy," isn't it?

I haven't read far enough back to find out why this is thought
necessary. I continually get unnerved when I crash into someone else's
semiotic ordering.
