Paul F. Cole, Secretary-Treasurer, New York State AFL-CIO; Robert A.
Runkle, Administrative Director, Berks Career and Technology Center in
Pennsylvania; and James Everett, Director of Technical Education and
Enrollment Services, Metropolitan Community Colleges' Business & Technology
College in Missouri, will present "National Assessment of Vocational
Education (NAVE):Implications of the NAVE Findings for Workforce Education"
during a live Webcast from the National Dissemination Center for Career and
Technical Education, The Ohio State University, on Tuesday, November 16, at
3 p.m. EST.

Paul F. Cole holds the second-highest office in the New York State labor
movement-Secretary-Treasurer of the 2.5 million-member New York State
AFL-CIO. He has been a Vice President of the American Federation of
Teachers since 1974 and is an emeritus member of the New York State United
Teachers board of directors.

Cole taught social studies for 23 years at Lewiston-Porter Senior High
School in Youngstown, NY and served as President of the Lewiston-Porter
United Teachers. He served as Assistant to the President of the New York
State United Teachers and Political Director of the New York State AFL-CIO
prior to his election as Secretary-Treasurer of the State Federation in 1984.

Cole has a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Marquette University
and a masters of science degree from Canisius College. He has completed
additional graduate work at Niagara University, SUC at Buffalo and the
University of California, Irvine.

Runkle is Administrative Director of the Berks Career and Technology
Center, Reading, PA. He has served in this capacity since 1983, and during
his tenure, the school has received statewide and national recognition for
innovation and exceptional student outcomes. The school is currently
registered to the ISO 9001:2000 international quality standard, and is
accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

He has worked extensively in the development of a countywide initiative
designed to provide a challenging, coherent sequence of course offerings
for each career and technical education student. Each student's sequence is
based on a career objective that will prepare the student for employment,
postsecondary education, and national credentialing. Runkle has served as
adjunct faculty member in the career and technical education field for The
Pennsylvania State University and for Temple University. Runkle received
his bachelor's of education degree from Temple University, his masters of
education degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his doctorate
in education with emphasis in public school administration from Temple
University.

Everett is Director of Technical Education and Enrollment Services at the
Metropolitan Community Colleges' Business & Technology College in Kansas
City, Mo. The BTC was the first community college in the United States to
gain ISO registration. Everett served as Director of Technology Planning
for the district from 1997to 1999. Prior to that, he was Associate Dean of
Instruction at Longview Community College (1994 - 1997) and Director of the
Northwest Missouri Tech Prep Consortium (1992 -1994). He has been an
educator for the last 20 years, having taught at Platte County R-III School
District, and as adjunct faculty at the Metropolitan Community Colleges,
Central Missouri State University, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and the
University of Missouri-Columbia. Everett has an associate's degree in
electronics technology from Maple Woods Community College, a bachelor's
degree in management and human Relations and a master's of education degree
from MidAmerica Nazarene University and a doctorate in education from the
University of Missouri-Columbia.
