Posted for Harriet Vardiman Smith: You can now hear the piece on NPR's website: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4628441 At 09:35 AM 5/3/2005, you wrote: Colleagues, Please note that NPR did an early morning Education story today titled "Bush Education Cuts Jeopardize GED Programs." It was part of the NPR Morning Edition. It had to do with how the administration's plans to cut adult education programs could/would be a blow to unemployed mill workers in North Carolina trying to get back into the workforce. When I checked the NPR web site, the piece was not yet available as a textual transcript, but I gather it will be. Meantime, an audio report is available at the NPR site. -- Gail Spangenberg President Council for Advancement of Adult Literacy 1221 Avenue of the Americas - 46th Floor New York, NY 10020 212-512-2362, fax 212-512-2610 www.caalusa.org _______________________________________________ NIFL-WORKPLACE mailing list NIFL-WORKPLACE at literacy.nifl.gov To unsubscribe or change your subscription settings, please go to http://www.nifl.gov/mailman/listinfo/nifl-workplace ___________________________________ Harriet Vardiman Smith Clearinghouse Director Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy & Learning State Partner in the National LINCS System Texas A&M University 800-441-READ website: www-tcall.tamu.edu main office email: tcall at coe.tamu.edu
