The goals of the series are to: o increase understanding of scientifically based reading research in the field of adult education, o expand knowledge of adult reading assessments and connection to practice, and o offer a variety of scientifically based strategies that can be shared with your program staff members. Each of the three Web casts targets one of the above goals. The first Web cast broadcast on June 30, 2005 summarized scientifically based reading research in adult education. The second Web cast on July 28 focused on adult reading assessment to practice. This Web cast is now available on the NCFL Web site (http://www.famlit.org). Please hold the date of September 22 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm EST for the final Web cast on research-based practice in adult reading instruction. Although the Web cast series is designed specifically for Even Start State Coordinators, the information provided is helpful to anyone in the field of family literacy or adult education.
