Gentle readers,
It appears to be feast or famine in the number of resources in any one week. This week, there were fewer, so you have a short list.

Remember that you may have to cut and paste the two parts of the URL together if they wrap to two lines in this e-mail.

Donna

Ready4Work In Brief
Funded by the US Department of Labor and the Annie E. Casey and Ford foundations, Ready4Work is a three-year national demonstration project designed to address the needs of the growing ex-prisoner population and to test the capacity of community- and faith-based organizations to meet those needs.
This issue of P/PV In Brief examines interim outcomes from the initiative, which to date are extremely encouraging. Almost 60 percent of participants have become employed and the majority of them have stayed employed for three or more consecutive months. Even more striking, recidivism rates for Ready4Work participants are considerably lower than those reported by the Bureau of Justice Statistics for a similar population. The EFF Work Readiness Curriculum aligns with the National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC) Profile which was developed in collaboration with the EFF Assessment Consortium and hundreds of front-line supervisors from businesses across the country. The profile uses The EFF Worker Role Map and integrates the Secretary's Commission on Achieving Basic Skills (SCANS skills) with the EFF Content Standards. Each of the instructional modules that comprise the EFF Work Readiness Curriculum take a blended approach, focusing on specific SCANS tasks from the credential's profile while highlighting two or three of the EFF Standards, reinforcing the acquisition and application of basic skills.
