Dear Workplace Literacy Discussion List,

As advised by Dr. Donna Brian, I'd like to introduce myself as a new member
of this listserv. My name is Chris Tombari and I have been with the Spring
Institute for Intercultural Learning in Denver, Colorado for 9 years.
Currently, I manage our programs that deal with workforce education in the
area of English language training. One program, WorkStyles, is an intensive
pre-employment (almost work culture immersion) program for refugees and
asylees that has been in operation since 1985. We recently offered our 200th
program! Other workforce related programs we offer are our Workplace English
classes and a 3-day English class designed to prepare refugees and asylees
for Driver Education classes.

I was a recent participant in the Bridges to Opportunity Conference at
LaGuardia Community College (where this listserv was mentioned as a valuable
resource). I'm looking forward to taking part in and reading about
everything going on in workplace English language training.

Best wishes,
Chris Tombari
