Hello to everyone,
At the request of Dr. Brian I would like to introduce myself to the group.
My name is John Warrior and I am an ESL instructor at Tulsa Community
College. I earned my Masters degree in Teaching ESL from Oral Roberts
University here in Tulsa. I teach both intermediate and advanced ELL
students. They include 18 year old "1.5ers," new arrivals and established
members of the community.
I decided to join this group for two reasons. The first is that all of the
students have academic and vocational goals and objectives. I figured that
reading and participating in discussions here might provide me with some
helpful insights to assist my students in achieving their goals. My second
reason is that I am considering pursuing a doctorate in either Educational
Psychology or Linguistics and I felt this was one of several areas where I
could interact and gain some insights that may help direct my future
academic choices.
Thanks,
John Warrior
