We just had our annual Scrabble for Literacy Fundraiser last Saturday
and on the average I can raise $3-4,000.  Most of the money comes from
businesses in the area that I solicit to "sponsor" the fundraiser but we
also charge $12 per person to play as well as ask the participants to
raise pledges.  It is a lot of work up front but once you get it known
in the community as an annual event, it becomes much, much easier.  If

co-sponsored with the running club who will do all the event
