Friday, June 29, 2007 is the deadline to submit your Letter of Interest for a new three-year demonstration, Courses to Employment: Sectoral Approaches to Community College-Nonprofit Partnerships. 

The Courses to Employment demonstration will begin in 2008 and focus on partnerships between community colleges and community-based organizations that take a sector approach to working with low-income adults. Projects must provide education and training focused on a defined industry sector or a set of related occupations, and involve employers in developing the curriculum and identifying job opportunities for graduates. 

Full details on eligibility and the Letter of Interest process are available on the Aspen Institute’s Workforce Strategies Initiative Web site: http://www.aspenwsi.org/CoursesToEmployment.asp. Selecting partnerships for the demonstration will be a two-step process. Currently, AspenWSI is seeking Letters of Interest from partnerships, a completed application form and endorsement letters. Based on a review of the submitted Letters of Interest, AspenWSI will invite full proposals from a select group of applicants in September 2007. All materials must be received, in one package via e-mail, by the Aspen Institute by close of business Friday, June 29, 2007.
