Check the curriculum that is in the VESL Clearinghouse Catalog. You can see that on the OTAN website. www.otan.us There's a very brief registration (it's free). 1. At the top of screen, click on Site Info. 2. Click Site Index. 3. Click VESL Worklplace Clearinghouse Catalog. 4. Click Medical. There is something written for Hospital Housekeeping. We use the Hotel Housekeeping modules at our district (San Diego Community College Continuing Education). The only charge is for copying and shipping and since they're public domain, you can adapt them to your program. I am the Workplace and Community Education Manager for the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition. We have ESOL, GED and ABE programs at businesses and community organizations throughout Palm Beach County Florida. We are about to begin a new ESOL class at a local medical center for the housekeeping staff of the hospital. I have been searching for appropriate materials to use for this class and have had very little success. Does anyone out there know of any good materials and/or a specific curriculum aimed at housekeeping staff in a hospital setting? Thus far the only ESOL healthcare related books I have come across are aimed at nurses or other healthcare professionals. I look forward to your advice, suggestions and opinions.
