Thank you for the inquiry requesting information about training on the EFF Work Readiness Curriculum Preparing for Work. The third nationally advertised training is scheduled for August 28-29, 2007 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Martha O'Bryan Center, EFF's partner in a work readiness initiative supported through funding from The Dollar General Foundation. We have plans to co-host another such event in the early spring. In addition to these "open registration" events, such as the training in August, we are also responding to requests from organizations and agencies who have asked for on-site training. We have conducted the training in Texas, Florida, and Illinois and have events scheduled in Washington, DC, New York and New Jersey as well. For more information on EFF's Preparing for Work curriculum and professional development, contact Anna Bogle at abogle at utk.edu or by calling 865-974-8426. The profile uses The EFF Worker Role Map and integrates the Secretary's Commission on Achieving Basic Skills (SCANS skills) with the EFF Content Standards. Each of the instructional modules that comprise the EFF Work Readiness Curriculum take a blended approach, focusing on specific SCANS tasks from the credential's profile while highlighting two or three of the EFF Standards, reinforcing the acquisition and application of basic skills.
