Workplace colleagues,
Did you ever run across a website that was so powerful that you just had
to figure out a way to use it in your instruction? I've run across such
a site. It's the photography of Chris Jordan at
http://www.chrisjordan.com <http://www.chrisjordan.com/> . Click on the
selection of pictures called "Running the Numbers: An American
Self-Portrait" and scroll down through.
I'd like some help in figuring out ways that these pictures could be
used in our classes. I think they could be used in many kinds of ways
as part of an awareness of environmental issues, statistics, scale, etc.
Are they useful in workplace literacy, or more useful in some other area
of literacy? Take a look and see what you think. Share your ideas with
the discussion list. Thanks!
Donna
