Description:
Worker Profiling and Reemployment Services (WPRS) and Frontline Decision
Support Systems (FDSS) are tools that use the trends and patterns from
many sources of data to support decision making and prioritize service
delivery. WPRS is one of the principal tools for bringing Unemployment
Insurance claimants into One-Stop Career Centers and helping them
interact with the workforce investment system. WPRS uses demographics
and characteristics of many claimants to predict which of them will need
job search assistance and helps provide a basis for referral to
services. Included will be an overview of current WPRS operations and
alternative uses of WPRS scores. This presentation will also explore
broader topics and products in using statistical targeting to allocate
services and support decision making such as FDSS. FDSS will be
described by one of its chief architects. Mr. O'Leary will cover its
background, operational details, screenshots from implementations, and
experience from other implementation experiments.
This Webinar is the fourth in a series of Webinars designed to support
the reemployment technical assistance effort. Because the reemployment
function is a cross-functional responsibility, the session will describe
the roles various parties need to play in order to have successful
operations. The Webinar should be of interest to policy makers, managers
and front-line staff who want to understand and optimize tools to
support reemployment.
