The Word Meaning Test (WMT)

The WMT is an oral test of expressive vocabulary that we have developed and put on this website for your use. (It's free!)

For this test, the administrator reads a word to the learner, who then tells what that word means. The advantage of this kind of assessment is that it does not rely on a learner's ability to read and recognize a word in order to express its meaning (if he or she knows it).
